It seems we have until the middle of May before we know if the Rally will be canceled. I am now on the fence, I am really hoping that it is a go and we are released from this whole Covid thing. Even though the rally may be more subdued than they usually are it would still be a great ride there and back. On the other side I am getting really irritated at the rhetoric coming from our American friends leadership. Not sure I want to spend my tourist dollars, ( pennies if you do the exchange) in their country. I may just cancel any ways and head out on an all Canadian Journey this Summer. Hoping every one is staying safe in this unknown time.

There is nothing new on the Rally web site which surprises me, but they may be still hoping to carry it off. I believe I read somewhere that we have until May 25th to cancel to get a refund so I haven't rushed to do so. Like you, I have some great misgivings about heading south of the border for the next few months even if they do open the border for travel. (Which I'm hoping they don't rush to do.)
I'm slightly encouraged by some of the numbers in BC right now, and I'm optimistic that there might be some relaxation of the guidelines here in a month or two. There is still lots of BC that I haven't explored yet and keeping our tourist dollars at home would help offset the lack of incoming tourist dollars.

I received an Email last week stating they were waiting until the 15th of May before they decide, Gives time to Cancel. I have both the North and the Eastern part of Canada calling. It might be time to see Ontario and parts beyond. The North is awesome but been there. Besides as you say Still lots of BC to explore as well.

I never got that email, so let us know if you get any further notifications.
For a number of years I've wanted to ride across Canada. Now that I'm retired, that might be on my horizon. If I were to do so I would like to take a fair amount of time to do it, say 3-4 months with lots of camping weather permitting. However, being away from home for that long may be problematic for me. Even if the pandemic slows down that kind of travel may be problematic in Canada this year. Maybe next year.
